Independent Steering Group Members Recruitment Begins
As preparations for the 2027 Wheelchair Basketball European Championship continue, we are now seeking applications for independent members to join the event’s Steering Group.
The Steering Group will oversee the delivery of the strategic goals and associated objectives of the event. The group will be made up of representatives of Liverpool City Council, British Wheelchair Basketball, UK Sport and UKEL, plus (up to) three independent steering group members and an independent chair.
Independent steering group members will come from a wide variety of backgrounds and with relevant skills to enhance the steering group’s ability to support the delivery of a successful event.
This event will showcase the world’s best athletes who redefine what it means to be powerful, skilled, and relentless whilst providing a platform to change societal narratives around disability. The Steering Group will play a critical role in ensuring this ambition is realised.
